The urinal matters more than people think. Men use it instead of the seat, so the seat stays cleaner and the tank fills slower.
Will a standard unit fit through my side gate?
A standard unit is about 44 inches wide, so it fits through most 48-inch side gates. Our crew needs about 4 feet of clear width plus a path for the hand truck: no steps, no soft mulch beds and no tight turns. A 36-inch gate is too narrow; we set the unit on the driveway instead.

- Walk the path. Steps, roots and wet clay stop a hand truck.
- Keep the spot within about 50 feet of where the truck parks.
- Pick flat ground. A unit on a slope rocks and the door will not latch well.

Is a standard porta potty right for a job site or an event?
A standard porta potty works for both, but the setup changes. On a job site, one unit with weekly service covers about 8 to 10 workers on a 40-hour week. At an event, one unit covers about 250 guest-hours, so 50 guests for 5 hours. Food lines need a hand wash station nearby.

How often does a standard unit need service?
A standard unit needs service about once a week for a crew of 10 or fewer. From June to September, sites with more than 10 workers should move to twice-weekly service for $60 more per 28-day cycle. Each visit pumps the 60-gallon tank, scrubs the inside, adds deodorizer and restocks paper and sanitizer.
Weekly service is part of the 28-day price. If your site is very quiet, we can stretch visits to every two weeks. The price stays the same.

Does the standard porta potty have a urinal?
Yes. Every standard unit has a toilet seat and a separate urinal. The urinal keeps the seat cleaner and slows how fast the tank fills.
How long before a standard porta potty fills up?
The 60-gallon tank holds about 200 uses. For a 10-person crew that is about one week, which is why weekly service is included on 28-day rentals.
Can you put it in the shade or under a tree?
Yes, if our truck hose can reach it within about 50 feet. Shade keeps the unit cooler and cuts odor in summer.
Will a porta potty fit through a 36-inch gate?
No. A standard unit is about 44 inches wide and needs a 48-inch gate with a clear path. With a smaller gate we place it on the driveway or curb edge.
Is a standard porta potty OK for a birthday party?
Yes. One standard unit covers about 50 guests for a 5-hour party. Add a hand wash station if food is served or kids are coming.
Is there a light inside?
No power is needed. The roof is translucent, so daylight comes in. For night events, a deluxe unit, VIP cabin or trailer is a better fit.
Do I need to stake it down?
On open job sites and lake-area lots in spring, we stake or strap units for wind at no extra charge. Backyard units next to a fence usually do not need it.
