What makes a flushing porta potty different?

A flushing porta potty has a foot pump that rinses the bowl with clean water, so guests never look down into the tank. Our deluxe unit adds a sink, soap, towels and a mirror, and carries about 20 gallons of fresh water. The footprint is about the same as a standard unit.

When is a flushing porta potty rental worth the extra cost?

A flushing porta potty rental is worth the extra $80 over a standard unit when guests dress up, when older relatives attend, or when there is no other place to wash hands. Bridal showers, reunions, church events and graduation parties are the usual cases. For a work crew, the standard unit does the job.

How long do 20 gallons of fresh water last?

About 20 gallons of fresh water lasts one busy weekend event in a deluxe flushing unit. Each flush and each hand wash uses a little, so a 100-guest party drains it faster than a 30-guest shower. On 28-day rentals, the weekly service visit refills the water along with pumping the tank.

When the fresh tank runs dry, the toilet still works as a regular unit. The flush and sink stop until we refill. If your event runs past 3 days, ask for a mid-event visit for $55.

When is a deluxe flushing unit the wrong choice?

A deluxe flushing unit is the wrong choice in 3 places: long job sites, events with more than about 100 guests per unit, and freezing nights. On those, the 20-gallon water tank runs out or freezes. A standard unit with a separate hand wash station often works better and costs less.

How much does a deluxe flushing unit cost?

A deluxe flushing unit starts at $245 for an event of up to 3 days, or $225 per 28-day cycle with weekly service. Delivery and pickup is a single fee per order, $45 to $95 by zone. Texas sales tax of 8.25% is added. There is no fuel charge or removal fee.

Where should a deluxe unit go at an event?

A deluxe unit should sit on flat, firm ground within about 50 feet of where our truck parks, and close enough for guests to find it. Keep it 20 to 30 feet from food tables. A driveway edge or side yard works well. Text us a photo of the spot before delivery day.

Units lined up in a driveway for a backyard event
  • Flat ground keeps the flush pump and door working right.
  • Point the door away from the party tables.
  • After rain, skip soft clay lawns; the truck needs firm ground.
  • Leave a clear path in case we service it mid-event.

On job sites, OSHA counts a deluxe unit the same as any toilet under 29 CFR 1926.51. More tips in the backyard porta potty placement guide. Planning a bigger event? See event restroom planning.

Flushing porta potty questions

Straight answers from the dispatch desk. Not covered here? Call (469) 326-5635.

Does the flushing porta potty need a water hookup?

No. The deluxe unit carries about 20 gallons of fresh water in its own tank. A foot pump runs the flush and the sink, so no hose or power is needed.

Is a flushing porta potty the same as a real toilet?

Not quite. The flush rinses the bowl with clean water, but waste still goes into a holding tank that we pump. It looks and feels much cleaner than an open tank.

Does the deluxe unit have a sink and soap?

Yes. It has a foot-pump sink, soap, paper towels and a mirror. You may not need a separate hand wash station for one or two units.

Is the deluxe unit worth it for a graduation party?

Usually, yes. Graduation parties bring grandparents and dressed-up guests. For $80 more than a standard unit, they get a flush and a sink.

What happens if the fresh water runs out?

The toilet still works, but the flush and sink stop. Call us and we can refill and pump it for $55 during business hours.

Can I rent a flushing unit for a month?

Yes. It is $225 per 28-day cycle with a weekly service visit that pumps the tank and refills the water. Heavy-use sites do better with standard units.
