How many porta potties does a festival need?
A festival needs 1 porta potty per 250 guest-hours, plus 1 for every 4 when alcohol is sold. A 500-person, 5-hour event with a beer tent needs 13 units. At least 5% of each cluster should be wheelchair-accessible, with 1 hand wash station for every 4 units near food.
| Crowd × hours | Base units | With alcohol | Clusters | Wheelchair-accessible (included) | Hand wash stations |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 300 × 4 h | 5 | 7 | 1 | 1 | 2 |
| 500 × 5 h | 10 | 13 | 1 | 1 | 4 |
| 1,000 × 6 h | 24 | 30 | 2 of 15 | 2 (1 per cluster) | 8 |
| 2,500 × 6 h | 60 | 75 | 3 of 25 | 6 (2 per cluster) | 19 |
| 5,000 × 8 h | 160 | 200 | 5 of 40 | 10 (2 per cluster) | 50 |
For crowds under 300, the party and event page or the sizing calculator is faster.
How should festival porta potty clusters be laid out?
Festival porta potties work best in clusters of 10 to 40 units, placed near food, stages and the beer garden, not at the main gate. Leave a 10-foot truck lane behind each cluster for service. Put the wheelchair-accessible unit on the end, on firm, level ground with a 6-foot path.
- Send the site mapMark stages, food rows, the bar, entrances and power. A phone photo of a sketch is fine.
- We mark clustersWe suggest where each bank goes and how many units it holds.
- Set the day beforeUnits are placed, leveled and staked before vendors load in.
- Hand wash at the exitStations go where people leave the cluster, so the line moves.
- Light the walkUnits are dark inside after sunset. Plan lights for evening hours.

When do festival porta potties get serviced?
A standard unit holds about 200 uses between services. A 1-day festival under 8 hours usually runs on the clean delivery alone. Multi-day festivals get pumped and restocked each night after close or early morning before gates open, so the truck never blocks a crowd.
Tell us your gate times. We schedule service inside our 7 AM–7 PM hours, before doors open or right after close.
Why heat changes the schedule: porta potty service in Texas heat.
Do I need a city permit for festival porta potties?
Most North Texas cities require a special-event permit for festivals in parks or on streets, and the permit often sets restroom counts. Units placed in a street or on a sidewalk need city approval. Confirm with your city's special-event or parks office 30 or more days before the date.
Start with the city: City of McKinney, City of Frisco or City of Plano. We can send a written quote with unit counts and a drop map for your permit packet. We do not file permits for you.

Send the address, dates and crowd size. We return counts and a cluster plan.
Will you donate porta potties to our charity event?
We quote charity and nonprofit festivals at the same rates as everyone else: a standard unit is $165 for up to 3 days. We do not donate units or trade them for sponsor signs. Nonprofits can apply for invoice billing on Net 15 terms, and the quote is itemized for your board or grant paperwork.
- Group every unit on one order. The delivery fee is per order, not per unit.
- Book inside the 3-day event window. Drop Friday, event Saturday, pickup Monday is one price.
- Use the formula, not a guess. Over-ordering is the most common waste we see.
- Ask for an itemized quote with the tax line shown.

Can you set up the day before and pick up after the last day?
Yes. We set units the day before gates open and pick up the next business day after close. Up to 3 days on site is one event price.
Do festival units have to be wheelchair-accessible?
When units are grouped, at least 5% of each cluster, and no fewer than 1, should be wheelchair-accessible under the 2010 ADA Standards. Your city may ask for more.
Can you deliver to a closed street downtown?
Yes, once the city approves street placement in your permit. Send us the approved map and the street closure times.
How many hand wash stations do food trucks need?
Plan 1 hand wash station for every 4 toilets, plus at least 1 near the food truck row. Each station holds about 400 washes.
Do you give sponsorship or nonprofit pricing?
No. Every event pays the same posted rates. Nonprofits can apply for invoice billing, and we send an itemized quote for grant files.
What happens if a unit gets tipped over overnight?
Call us and we clean it up. Tip-overs from misuse or vandalism are billed at cleanup cost, with a $150 minimum.
Can you add units if ticket sales jump?
Yes, when we still have stock. Call by 12 PM Monday through Saturday for same-day adds in McKinney and nearby towns.
