The legal minimum, plus what we recommend for real crews.

Justin Rental Works · McKinney, TX

The rule

29 CFR 1926.51

OSHA Table D-1 sets the minimum number of toilets on construction job sites.

1

20 or fewer workers

1 toilet is the legal minimum for a crew of 20 or fewer.

Bigger crews

20+ and 200+ workers

20+ workers: 1 seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. 200+ workers: 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50.

Handwashing

1926.51(f)

OSHA also requires washing facilities. Add a sink unit or a hand wash station near the toilets.

1 per 10

Our recommendation

The law is the floor. We suggest about 1 unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week, with weekly service.

$145

Per 28-day cycle

A standard unit is $145 per 28 days, weekly service included. 2 units in Frisco: $335 + tax first cycle.

Summer

Texas heat

June to September, busy sites do better with twice-weekly service: +$60 per 28-day cycle.
